How Can I Serve?
We are Seekers, Disciples, Ministers and Apostles.
Some of us are called to a particular ministry in the parish. Most of us live our faith primarily as apostles in the world, as witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus (Acts 1:22). A regular footwashing ministry can help us to be better apostles, whether or not it is done through the parish. The important thing is for each of us to name and claim the particular footwashing ministry to which God has called us.
The Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory, part of our regular Charism Workshop is a great tool for beginning to discern one's particular charisms.
In the meantime, try this as a prayer exercise: Scroll through Worship, Word, Service, Vocation, Evangelization and Stewardship on this web site, or in the parish Guidebook. Look for ministry opportunities that intrigue you. Feel free to have a conversation with the Connection Minister listed. And then sit with the vocation question: Lord, what are you calling me to?
