| Father Steve has prepared a list for us to follow, whereby if we read a chapter a day, we will have read the Bible in four years. By reading the Bible as a community we will not only continue to grow in our faith, but we will have tremendous opportunities for conversations with friends and family who are reading the same passages at the same time. |
| Some suggestions: |
| ==> | Set aside a time during each day that works best for you. | |
| ==> | Select a place (be flexible) | |
| ==> | A Bible with footnotes can be a big help, but keep it simple. Commentaries are available in the parish library. | |
| ==> | Be open to the possibility of a kind of ritual. Try ending your Bible reading session with the Our Father and your favorite prayer, or, My God, I praise You, I thank You, I believe in You, I hope in You, I love You. | |
| ==> | Keep a journal, and each day write down a word, phrase, or prayer related to what you have just read. |
| For your convenience and so that even if you travel and forget your Bible, you can continue this sojourn through our entire bible with other parishioners of Saint Stephen. Simply locate the desired date in the calendar and click on the link to the reading for that particular day, or download a pdf version of the calendar by clicking the 'Printable Calendar' link. |
